Collections
The Gleason Public Library holds over 50,000 items in its recently
renovated and expanded building (2000). The library is visited often
and serves as a charming and friendly community center for Carlisle
residents, friends, and neighbors. Over 10,000 items are checked
out monthly at the Gleason Public Library.
The library collection includes books for adults, children, and
young adults "tweens" about favorite subjects, audio
books, classical and popular music, language and travel materials,
magazines and newspapers, DVDs and videos, large-print books, reference
books, and databases. Seven computers provide access to the internet
and three additional computers, donated by a local foundation, provide cd-rom
games for children.
If you can't come in to browse our collections, you can learn more
about what the library has via the internet. The Gleason Public
Library belongs to the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium, which
allows our patrons to easily access materials from 35 area libraries.
Items can be requested, as well as renewed, by logging into
the MVLC
catalog through this web site. You will be asked to provide
your borrower ID number (library card number) and your PIN (last
four digits of your phone number).

MVLC Digital Downloads are an exciting new media available online from the Gleason Public Library. You can now check out and download audio books from the comfort of your own home.
Once you’ve downloaded the book you may then listen to it on your PC or an MP3 player. Most books can even be burned to CD.
When the books are due (usually after one week) they will check back in automatically!
