ReConstruct Golf Challenge 2007
On Monday, April 23, 2007 over 30 local golfers raised $37,000 in our first annual ReConstruct Golf Challenge at the Old Natchez Country Club in Franklin. We were very pleased with the outcome for both the golfers and the funds raised for the first year of this type of event.
A golf challenge differs from a pay-to-play golf tournament because the players don’t pay a fee to play in the tournament. Instead participants were encouraged to secure sponsors at different giving levels. “We had a great time at the ReConstruct golf challenge,” said golfer Steve Stark. “The Lord blessed the fundraising efforts of the players and provided us all with a glorious day for golf and fellowship.”
Corporate sponsors were: Kenny Pipe and Supply, Inc. and Source One Automotive, Inc. Next year’s Golf Challenge will be April 21, 2008. Click here to see photos and a full list of sponsors.
Prior to the Golf Challenge I had a very simple understanding of the mission of ReConstruct and the work that you do. But thanks to the introductory meetings leading up to the Golf Challenge I have a much more in-depth and meaningful understanding of your ministry serving young people all across the country. It’s hard to imagine a more practical application of Jesus’ message of serving others while ministering to America’s youth.
