Agility and resilience are among the most critical attributes of today's successful organization - and at the heart of each is the ability to adapt and change. HR leaders play a critical role in any large scale change initiative but they can't do it alone. We will explore the ways that HR can successfully play the roles of catalyst, coach, and coordinator to help their organizations achieve meaningful, lasting change.

Critical for:
- HR leaders charged with leading and/or facilitating organizational change and who want to maximize the chances of success

Amy Edmondson, co-author of Organizational Learning and Competitive Advantage, has conducted extensive research for understanding and improving processes through which organizations learn and innovate - critical to leading any large-scale change initiative. She will explore how and under what conditions groups are able to learn and reveal their importance in explaining why some organizations learn - and change - so much better than others.

Joseph L. Bower has been a leader in general management at Harvard Business School for 35 years. Bower is the author or coauthor of more than a dozen books, the newest of which From Resource Allocation to Strategy (with C. Gilbert) won the Best Book in 2006 award from "Strategy and Management." Professor Bower has also consulted widely on problems of strategy and organization with companies here and abroad. He is a director of Anika Therapeutics, Inc., Brown Shoe, Inc., Loews Corporation, New America High Income Fund, Sonesta International Hotels Corporation, and trustee of TH Lee, Putnam Emerging Opportunities Portfolio.
