United Way's 211/First Call For Help is a free and confidential information service ready to direct you to the health and human services you need in Cuyahoga County.

Just dial 2-1-1* or (216) 436-2000. Professional staff are here to help you 24 hours a day, every day. Last year, nearly 95,000 people turned to us for information about a wide variety of health and human services. You can get help from agencies that provide:

Services for senior citizens
Counseling and mental health services
Recreation and social activities
Treatment for substance abuse
Services for people with disabilities
Home-delivered meals
Shelter
Health care
Services for children and families
Emergency food
Support groups

*211 is not available on cell phones, and some organizations will need to remove any internal phone system blocks to use 2-1-1.

Donating Items to United Way Agencies
As part of our service to the community, United Way's 211/First Call For Help will refer individuals who wish to donate new or gently used items, to agencies that have expressed a need for such items. 211/First Call For Help may be reached by dialing 2-1-1 from a landline phone or (216) 436-2000 from cell phones. You may also visit First Call For Help's web site for information at 211cleveland.org. Please note: United Way of Greater Cleveland is not a member of the Donated Goods/Gifts-in-Kind Program.
