Dynamic Japanese Shamisen Meets Ireland
takes place on Thursday 14th June, 8pm.
Japanese and Irish music from the traditional to the contemporary, featuring Masahiro Nitta (Tsugaru shamisen) in collaboration with two Irish American musicians Dean Magraw (guitar) and John Williams (concertina).

The National Concert Hall Summer Proms in the Iveagh Gardens takes place Saturday 21st July
Take your seat in the idyllic summer setting of The Iveagh Gardens for an evening of opera favourites from Puccini to Verdi. Join two of Ireland's leading operatic singers, Cara O'Sullivan and Anthony Kearns for a unique evening of opera under the stars.

Colm Wilkinson on Broadway takes place Sunday 22nd July
Celebrate all that is Broadway with the internationally renowned singer, Colm Wilkinson. There's plenty of activity at Castle Ward Demesne, Co. Down this summer to keep all the family happy!

Dead Men's Tales
Find a mate and join the crew of our 55' cruiser to discover the tales of smugglin', coffins, treasures and secrets of Strangford Lough.
Combined with nautical-themed tours of Castle Ward mansion, Dead Men's Tales will both inform and captivate visitors as mysteries of the Lough are revealed.
Three cruises per day starting at 12 noon on Saturday 23 June then running every weekend throughout July and August. Cost £15 per person.
Meet in Castle Ward Stableyard 15 minutes before departure.

Pirate's Picnic
"Ahoy, me hearties!" A fun packed day for all the family. Come in pirate costume and prepare to seek and find the buried treasure! "Shiver me Timbers...."
Saturday 12 July from 1-5 pm. Normal admission applies. Members Free.

Shakespeare in the Park
Friday 6 & Saturday 7 July

Jazz in the Garden
Every Sunday afternoon throughout July and August at Castle Ward, 3.00pm to 5.30pm. Normal admission. Members free.
Sipping wine while picnicking on the lawns amidst an array of wonderful smelling flowers and stunning vistas, has established this Jazz event as a great afternoon of relaxation and pleasure for all the family. Bring a rug and a picnic.

Summer Nights at King John's Castle

From July 20th-22nd, King John’s Castle, Limerick will play host to a myriad of cultural, theatrical and musical performances.

Designed to cater for all different cultural and musical tastes, this event promises to create an electrifying yet enchanting atmosphere in the unique surrounds of King John’s Castle this July.

On the Friday, 20th July, Chapterhouse Theatre Company will be performing an outdoor performance of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream in the magical setting of the Castle Courtyard.

This beautifully dressed Elizabethan production will feature a large cast and an enchanting musical score set to Shakespeare’s wonderful verse.

Join us under the stars at King John’s Castle for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of theatre. Patrons are invited to come along, with picnics and blankets in tow, relax, unwind and enthrall themselves in this theatrical spectacle brought to life in truly magical and unusual setting of King John’s Castle.

On Sunday 22nd July, legendary 80’s rockers, Diamond Head, take the stage at King John’s Castle, with an open air performance of their 80’s hits including Am I Evil?, Lighting to the Nations, This Planet is me and Mine all Mine, along with many more.

Whilst the show will be a rock concert, the emphasis will be on heavier rock and aspects of the Metallica-type metal genre. With music ranging from doom laden Sabbath type grind to more mercurial sounds of Led Zeppelin, Diamond Head performance should not be missed by any true heavy metal fan.
