Guinness Storehouse® launches iWalk Guinness®

Guinness Storehouse®, the home of Guinness® has launched iWalk Guinness® - an audio guided tour of Dublin City and Guinness Storehouse® that can be downloaded to any mp3 player or ipod, completely free of charge. The tour is available now from both the Guinness Storehouse® website, www.guinness-storehouse.com, and the official Dublin Tourism website, www.visitdublin.com.

The walk, which has been designed to take visitors from the heart of Dublin to the heart of Guinness® on, St James’s Gate, begins at Suffolk Street, where the tourist office is based, and guides visitors through the streets of Dublin, pointing out all of the city's best known landmarks and highlighting the various links that the Guinness® family have had with the city for generations.

When visitors arrive at Guinness Storehouse® the audio tour then carries on through all seven floors of the attraction. iWalk Guinness® tells the story of Guinness® from 1759, when Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease on a disused brewery at St. James Gate, Dublin, right up to Guinness® in the 21st century. Each different element is narrated by actors representing characters who played a part in the Guinness Brewery including a Guinness® bargeman from the 1930’s, a young cooper from the 1960’s and more modern characters, such as the current Master Brewer.

As with any visit to Guinness Storehouse®, the tour ends at Gravity®, the world famous bar which sits on the seventh floor of the visitor attraction and boasts panoramic views across Dublin.

iWalk Guinness® is part of the “iWalk” series which Dublin Tourism launched a year ago and will soon be available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
