Easter Activity week at Mount Stewart, Co. Down

Children will have an opportunity to join an Easter adventure through one of Northern Ireland’s most famous gardens, Mount Stewart near Newtownards, as The National Trust hosts Easter Egg Trails during the Easter week, Saturday 7 April to Sunday 15 April. There is a special guest for this year’s Golden Egg Trail. Peter Rabbit, the star of the film, Miss Potter, and the hero of many adventures in Mr McGregor’s garden, will be signposting the way around the gardens to guide children round the egg-citing trail. As children explore the gardens and follow the Peter Rabbit trail around the spectacular spring blooms, a festive prize will await them if they can solve the clues at each egg they find. The puzzles will be fun and educational, encouraging children to explore the majestic gardens created by Lady Edith Londonderry. Prizes will await everyone who reaches the Family Room with all the answers!

For the adults, guided tours of Lady Londonderry’s fine house will be available to provide insight into the many stories of their prominent guests and the people who have worked there over the centuries. The contemporary Bay Restaurant will be open for exquisite lunches made from local produce and a special children’s menu with Mr McGregor’s Carrot Soup and Benjamin Bunnies Special Salad. The Gift Shop will be open with fresh stock, including Peter Rabbit books and postcards, for a touch of retail therapy.

The Easter event runs from 11.00-16.00. Normal admission charges plus £1.50 per child for the Egg Trails. For further information telephone +44 28 4278 8387 or visit www.ntni.org.uk
