French Bliss

The baby La Cornue may not be the gourmet powerhouse that the Chateau is. However, it is seductively beautiful.

The Chateau collection by La Cornue is the culinary equivalent to the Rolls Royce Phantom - beautifully designed and built like a tank. Just as the there are few people who can lay claim to owning a Phantom, so few to are the the ranks of La Cornue owners. La Cornue is hoping to add to the owner base by introducing the Cornu Fe.

I was introduced to the Cornu Fe a few years back at a builders show and was a bit disappointed by how light the doors felt. The unit just did not have the same feel as the Chateau. I understand that there is a substantial price difference ($8K vs $22K+). However, it lacked the fit and finish of the Chateau.

I recently saw a white and stainless version of the Cornu Fe and it was stunning. The fit and finsh was great and the overall design was superb. It features double convection ovens, 3 standard burners, one 18,000 BTU high heat burner, as well as a low simmer burner. There is enough power in the unit for most dicerning gourmets.

If the budget allows on your next kitchen remodel, you may want to take a look at the Cornu Fe.

looks very cool.. now if only I had a french farm to go with the stove, I'd be set! someday, maybe

i have to say i loved getting my coru fe but hated the hood option out there in the general market.... and my kitchen designer (saint charles of new york) found this great company in PA that makes very artistic range hoods, the kick was i was allowed to design it myself using the online range hood builder.... it was fun and i ended up with something i love.

have a look at them
