Special Programs
The Children's Room at the Gleason Public Library offers regular special programs and events throughout the year. These include Sing-Alongs, Performers, and Special Guests. The larger annual events include the Great Pumpkin Spectacle in late October and the Summer Reading Program (late June - early August). Performances and programs are funded by the Friends of the Gleason Public Library, the Cultural Council, and special grants or donations to the Library.
Multicultural singalong
Brazilian singer and songwriter Sulinha Boucher will present a singalong with a multicultural twist for the preschool set (ages 0-4) on Thursday, January 15th at 10:30 at the Gleason Public Library. Sulinha will have everyone (adults included) tapping their feet and clapping their hands. The Friends of the Gleason Library are funding this free program.
Sulinha's recording Sulinha for Kids is a Parents Choice Award winner for 2007.
Children's Display Case
Calling all Carlisle kids! Do you have a special collection that you would like to share with your friends and the other patrons of the library? Thanks to the Friends of the Gleason Public Library, we now own a large display case that we want YOU to use.
How does it work? You sign up at the Children's desk and you get to fill the case with your special treasures for two weeks. After two weeks, your display comes down and the next one goes up.
Our current exhibit:

Don't miss Jacob Golson's incredible collection of rubber ducks - it's truly awesome!
So what do you collect? Your display can be anything you want - Pokemon cards, special toys, something you have made, artwork, coins, stamps, memories from a trip - it's entirely up to you. If you have any questions, you can email Nancy at nboutet@mvlc.org or call the library at 978-369-4898. Start getting that collection together and stop by the Children's desk to make your reservation.
