About The Maurer Foundation:
The Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education was founded in 1995 by Dr. Virginia Maurer, a breast surgeon, who recognized the need among her patients for a better understanding of breast cancer, and most importantly, its prevention and its relationship to a lifetime of good health practices. The Foundation has educated over 130,000 people in the New York metropolitan area, and all of its programs are free of charge!
The Maurer Foundation focuses exclusively on early detection and preventive lifestyle education for adolescents and adults. Addressing individuals at schools, in community organizations, and places of business, the Foundation’s up-to-date educational programs are aimed at dispelling myths and allaying fears about breast cancer while filling the critical knowledge gap that exists about maintaining breast health.
