Frame: The Wizard of Oz is going to be everywhere this year. 2009 will be the movie's 75th Anniversary. Wicked is coming to Tulsa this summer. We are asking for Theme & Logo submissions for Tulsa Pride 2009 that are unique expressions of the themes and icons of the 1939 Film Wizard of Oz. Please pay special attention to avoiding any possible copyright infringement.
Call for Themes:
All writers, thinkers, creators, philosophers and comedians are invited to submit possible themes for Tulsa Pride 2009 by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it prior to December 15th, 2008. The themes will be voted on by website visitors using the 2009 Theme Poll and then by a vote of the Pride Committee. Whichever theme receives both the winning online poll vote and the Pride Committee vote will be the automatic winner. Call for Logos:
All artists, graphic designers and desktop publishers are hereby invited to submit artwork for the Tulsa Pride 2009 Logo Contest.
A winner will be chosen by the following process. Artwork will be submitted via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by no later than December 15th, 2008. Artwork will be selected by popular vote via the 2009 Logo Poll on the Tulsa Pride website AND artwork will be evaluated and voted on by the Pride Committee. Whichever artwork receives both the winning online poll vote and the Pride Committee vote will be the automatic winner. Should a tie occur, a vote by the Board of Directors for Oklahomans for Equality will identify the winner.
The winner will agree to design templates for posters, flyers, postcards and web graphics/templates for the Pride Marketing Team to utilize for promoting Tulsa Pride 2009.
The winner will receive a special profile page on the Tulsa Pride website, signature/credit on printed materials, and two tickets to the Equality Gala 2009.
