The June 2006 CSA Annual Conference was the second annual "carbon neutral" conference. This means that CSA applied a "green meeting" strategy to minimize the overall environmental impact of the conference by estimating the carbon dioxide emissions associated with the participants’ travel and accommodation choices and, through an arrangement with Tree Canada Foundation, CSA sponsored the planting of enough trees to offset these emissions.
