Executive Director of marketumbrella.org, Richard McCarthy, and Director of Research and Evaluation, Emily Schweninger, attended the 2008 Funders Forum on Sustainable Gulf Coast Transformation in Mobile, Alabama this November. The forum provided an opportunity for national funders to learn about the needs of the Gulf Coast region through a three-day dialogue with each other and practitioners in the field. This year’s forum focused on the themes of sustainability and innovation, ideas at the core of marketumbrella.org’s work.
As we continue to grow, marketumbrella.org remains committed to foraging new relationships between supply and demand via its public markets system. We are looking for a full-time staff person with relevant experience who will be responsible for producer applications, database management, outreach and marketing. If you, or anyone you know, are interested in working for a small nonprofit with a big impact, check out this job description!
Executive director Richard McCarthy and marketshare director Darlene Wolnik are leading a small team of agricultural leaders from the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast to Slow Food's biannual Terra Madre assembly in Torino, Italy.
