Student ConnectionWUD Theater Committee is a UW-Madison student organization that plans and promotes the Union Theater Season. Each year, the committee is headed by a student director and three student associate directors who are responsible for researching artists, talking to agents and planning the events for each of the WUT Series. The committee serves to give their opinion on each of the artists, and to help promote the current season by doing things like postering, chalking, staging street team events, and most importantly talking to our peers about the events that are most exciting to us. WUD Theater Committee members share in the responsibilities of helping to run master classes, taking artists to and from their performances, taking pictures of performances for the WUT archives, writing for the WUT e-newsletter, introducing acts on stage and talking to audience members about upcoming performances. WUD Theater Committee maintains a blog, The Green Room, to provide a behind-the-scenes look at all of our performances, and daily goings on in the WUT and in the Union. WUD Theater Committee is a part of the Wisconsin Union Directorate Student Programming Board, and works in coordination with Alternative Breaks, Community Service, Society and Politics, Global Connections, Art, Film, Distinguished Lecture Series, Publications, Student Performance, Music and Hoofers committees to program events for UW-Madison Students, and the campus community at the Wisconsin Union.
